The Church is the first place many turn to for help. I am here to ensure they find it.

The Supporting Mental Health Through Faith Initiative is a collaborative partnership between Revelation Counseling Center and faith communities, ministries, and organizations. My mission is to bridge the gap between clinical mental health care and pastoral ministry, ensuring that no one in the Body of Christ has to navigate mental health challenges alone.

I believe that true healing encompasses the mind, body, and spirit. By partnering together, we provide a continuum of care that honors Scripture while utilizing evidence-based clinical tools.

How I Partner with Faith Communities

1. Trusted Clinical Referrals

When an adult congregant’s needs exceed the scope of pastoral counseling, the Initiative provides a trusted, streamlined pathway to professional care.

  • Seamless Handoff: I collaborate with church leadership and staff to ensure a smooth, respectful transition from pastoral care to clinical therapy.

  • Faith-Integrated: I respect the spiritual authority of the local church. For clients who desire it, I seamlessly integrate Biblical truth and Christian spiritual values with evidence-based clinical modalities (CBT, ACT, DBT skills).

  • Payor Aligned: I accept most major insurance plans (Aetna, BCBS, Cigna, Optum, Tricare East) to remove financial barriers for your members.

2. Equipping the Church & Leadership

  • Educational Workshops: Prevention is just as vital as intervention. I bring professional psychoeducational workshops directly to your church or staff to strengthen individuals, ministry leaders, and called workers. Workshops are customizable to your congregation's specific demographic needs.

  • Leadership Consultation: Pastors and ministry leaders carry a heavy clinical load. I offer professional consultation to help leaders assess mental health risk, understand complex symptoms, and determine the safest, most effective clinical course of action.

Congregational Sponsorship

Removing financial barriers through benevolence.

Finances should never be the barrier that prevents a hurting person from seeking clinical help. Through the Initiative, we offer a highly structured, legally compliant pathway for churches and organizations to financially sponsor individual adult counseling using Benevolence or Care Ministry funds.

How Congregational Sponsorship Works:

  • Customized Agreements: Your church or organization determines the exact level of support that fits your benevolence budget. You can choose to cover a specific number of sessions (e.g., "the first 3 sessions"), a specific percentage of the fee, or the member’s insurance co-pays/deductibles.

  • Strict Ethical Confidentiality: While the church provides financial sponsorship, the clinical relationship remains strictly confidential between the therapist and the member.

  • Compliant Third-Party Billing: To protect client privacy and comply with HIPAA, the client must sign a formal Authorization for Release of Information (ROI) and a Third-Party Billing Agreement before any administrative invoicing occurs. Invoices sent to the church are strictly limited to professional administrative data (date of service and contracted rate) with no sensitive clinical details or diagnoses disclosed.

  • Insurance Coordination: If the sponsored member wishes to utilize their insurance benefits (Tricare, BCBS, etc.), church benevolence funds can be legally utilized to cover the client's out-of-pocket co-pays, co-insurance, or deductibles.

Lutheran Military Support Group is a non-profit organization that provides Christ-centered support to WELS/ELS military service members, veterans, and their families. Spiritual and mental health support is provided through our Spiritual Retreats, Workshops, and access to Christian mental health care, such as Revelation Counseling Center.
